Product Chatter - Stuff about Products

Two of the hottest trends in technology these days are mobile apps and cloud services, with both driving us into what is already being dubbed the "Post-PC Era".    Our center of the computing universe is quickly moving from the desktop with local apps to a mobile, always connected, distributed framework.   To accomplish this, mobile devices need the support of cloud services.

The final hurrah arrives at the end of this month for one of my long-time companions - Microsoft Money.   The program officially discontinued sales in June 2009 and the online services portion has been slowly dying the past few months as individual financial institutions stop supporting the online updates.    The official end of online services occurs on Jan. 31.  

I've been using Money since about 1997 - about the same time I started online banking.   I would be an early adopter.   I upgraded every 3-4 years.   For the most part, the software was very easy to use and had a decent user interface.  It wasn't perfect, though, and I switched to Quicken in 2007 to see what the market leader had to offer.  I QUICK-ly switched back, being very frustrated by the (lack of) usability of Quicken.
