Job Description

Amazon’s New Product division is focused on building a new business to enter an exciting new market segment.  This new and growing team within Amazon offers a creative, fast-paced, entrepreneurial work environment where you’ll be at the center of Amazon innovation.  We are looking for an experienced principal product manager to drive a vision and strategy for an internal tools (product) feature set that will be critical to effectively managing day-to-day business operations.   These products will need to integrate seamlessly with APIs from internal as well as external partners, and must be scalable to meet the demands of a fast-growing market segment.  Example products include production workflow dashboards, as well as reporting, alarm, and monitoring features

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and identify new opportunities to build world-class products for our business partners
  • Measure and analyze existing products and tools for opportunities to innovate and improve
  • Build products that are intuitive, effective, and scalable
  • Write business requirement documents based on intimate knowledge of the product, the market, and internal dependencies within the company
  • Ensure clear communication and coordination across the business, design and development teams.
  • Help define and influence the long-term product roadmap
  • Conduct business and financial analysis, including forecasting, monitoring, and reporting
  • Work cross-functionally with designers, software development engineers, sales people, other product managers, and external partners to guarantee a smooth and efficient product delivery
  • Define and establish the product vision, goals, supporting business metrics, and success indicators

Basic Qualifications
  • 7+ years in product management
  • Bachelor's degree


Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA
  • Experience delivering technology products/services in a high growth environment, with a demonstrated ability to translate business partner needs into business and product requirement
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and an ability to influence others internally and external
  • An ability to analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, and scope product and technical requirement
  • An ability to deliver product features from conception through completion
