The Amazon Kindle Cross Platform team is seeking an innovative, results-oriented, customer-centric team player to help build our cross platform business.  This Senior Product Manager will help define and drive the product strategy and roadmap for cross platform initiatives and to continue to deliver on the “buy once read anywhere” vision of the Kindle eBooks business. You will drive the design, architecture, and implementation of products that will be used every day, by people you know.

In this job you will be responsible for defining, documenting, prioritizing, and executing development projects. You will work directly with development teams, marketing teams, other technical program and product managers, and business teams to deliver projects that drive our key business metrics.

 

Key responsibilities

- Write product/marketing requirements documents and ensure clear communication and coordination of requirements to the business, design, and development teams.

- Creating buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key external partners

- Create and maintain the product and feature roadmaps, and manage prioritization and tradeoffs against customer experience

- Establish the product mission, goals, and supporting business metrics and indicators for success

- Measure and analyze existing products for opportunities to innovate and improve, providing additional benefits to customers

- Research and identify new opportunities for Amazon to further distinguish itself as the clear leader in offering the best reading experience on the broadest set of devices.

 

 

 

 



Basic Qualifications

- 5+ years product management experience in a technical industry

- 3+ years’ experience in consumer facing, mobile content or services, or related fields

- BA/BS required. MBA preferred. 



Preferred Qualifications

- The candidate will have succeeded in delivering products/services in a high growth environment and will have thrived in ambiguity and shifting priorities.

- He or she is a strong leader who can prioritize well, communicate clearly and compellingly and effectively influence across cross functional teams.

- The Amazon Kindle business requires innovative thinking balanced with a strong customer and quality focus.  This product manager will have a strong track record of achieving that balance.

-  Demonstrated ability to translate customer needs into business and product requirements

-  Strong verbal and written communication skills across all levels of the organization

-  Proven ability to make smart trade-offs on time-to-market versus features and to respond to competitive threats/opportunities.

-  Ability to juggle multiple priorities and make things happen in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; strong bias for action

-  Knowledge of or experience working with platforms/applications ( iOS, Android, PC, Web )

-  Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work successfully with teams across the organization, including Engineering, Program Management, Quality Assurance, and Senior Leadership

-  Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and feature concepts.

-  Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, schedule tradeoffs and opportunistic new ideas with technical employees

-  Street smarts and willingness to roll up your sleeves and do what's necessary to meet team goals.
