The Principal Product Manager, FBA Adoption is responsible for attracting and launching sellers into FBA who currently ship products in the US, Europe and Asia. As mentioned by Jeff Bezos, Founder and CEO of Amazon.com, in his annual letter to shareholders in 2006 and again in 2008, FBA is one of the strategic long term opportunities for the company to improve the lives of sellers and buyers while leveraging our billion dollar logistics infrastructure to generate increasing free cash flow and triple digit return on invested capital.
The scope for this leader includes the following:
- Analyze opportunities, develop and implement strategies and business plans to grow FBA to a significant business in the next few years.
- Assist in the development of key metrics and performance indicators to measure overall financial performance and provide foundation for continuous improvement.
- Influence and evangelize with senior leadership in our Retail, Marketplace and Operations organizations.
- Increase buyer awareness and demand for items shipped by FBA
- Product and Program Management:
- Work with sellers and internal software development teams to design, build, and maintain processes and features to help drive FBA adoption internationally.
- Work with internal product line category leaders and software developers to design build and maintain business process and features to improve buying customer experience.
- Own and manage the product feature roadmap for adoption with the software development teams using Agile Software Development to deliver customer valued features monthly.
- Clarify and drive short-term project priorities and commitments, as well as establish and maintain clear chains of project management and accountability.
- Work with large software development teams to provide monthly product feature backlog as part of Agile Software Development.
- Define functional requirements for new features.
- Ability to develop a detailed understanding of Amazon’s e-commerce products and the underpinning services oriented architecture.
- Understand technology trends and implications on the business for web design, logistics technology, payments processing, etc.
- Provide documentation on platform functionality, service behavior, and product roadmaps.
- Understand e-Commerce integrators such as Monsoon and Channel Advisor partnership fundamentals and practices.
- Define and execute strategy for integration with business software such as QuickBooks and Oracle accounting.
- Industry Specific Knowledge:
- Have general knowledge of e-commerce and target market segments (e.g. media, apparel, and electronics), processes, industry standards, regulations, and the current business trends.
- Have general knowledge of competitive offerings in terms of features and price
- Finance & Accounting; Legal and Tax
- Understand and manage financial activities, such as working capital, cash flow, revenue and margins, and financial metrics.
- Have knowledge of basic accounting principles and techniques.
- Work with Legal and Tax department on service contracts and fees, import and export regulations, reporting compliance, etc.
