Job Description

Amazon is building a new team focused on social games innovation. This group offers a creative, fast paced, entrepreneurial work environment where you will be working on a cutting edge initiative within Amazon.

 

Looking for an experienced technical product manager to envision, spec and build the platform for games.   This platform must be scalable to millions of users and have very high performance.  You will work closely with the software development team to ensure the most efficient use of resources and technologies.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Write high quality business requirement and functional specification documents based on intimate knowledge of the space and internal dependencies
  • Determine the long-term platform roadmap
  • Manage the development of the platform to hit milestones smoothly and efficiently
  • Constantly drive the platform forward with the highest quality

Successful candidates will have a technical background, be detail driven and have excellent problem solving abilities. You should not only be passionate about delivering extensible, on-time solutions, but should also be obsessed with contributing to the development of high-performance teams through rigorous goal-setting, disciplined attention to performance metrics, continuous process improvement and mentorship.

Basic Qualifications
  • 3+years experience managing complex technology projects
  • Bachelor’s Degree and 4+years equivalent work experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters Degree preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience developing large scale online services
  • Experience with metrics systems and analytics
  • Quantitative analytical abilities
  • Proven problem solving skills, track record of dealing with large complex problems
  • Ability to anticipate bottlenecks, mitigate risks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make trade-offs balancing the business needs vs. technical constraints.
  • Experienced running teams using Agile Development methods strongly preferred
  • Strong organizational skills, successful track record of coordinating between multiple project stakeholders including project sponsors, other technical program managers, and multiple software development teams
  • Experience developing large scale services in the social or online games space
  • Consistently drives highly innovative solutions using exceptional business and technical insight
  • Exhibits strong software development qualities including the ability drive creative and innovation solutions to complex problems, good technical judgment, clear communication, engagement and teamwork, and can drive quality.
