Do you want to help drive product strategy decisions that impact a $19 billion dollar division? The Microsoft Office Division (MOD) Product Planning team helps drive, assess and prioritize the long term planning and strategic direction for the division. You will partner with the engineering and business strategy teams to build short- and long-term product strategies. You will partner with product management and marketing to build business and customer models that impact our future growth. The ideal candidate for this job excels at framing problems and building the right analytical rigor into addressing them.

Your key responsibilities will include the following:

Identification and analysis of market opportunities, trends and competitive moves that inform our business
Design and conduct primary and secondary research from idea generation to concept iteration through to recommendations
Own being the voice of the customer and driving customer needs into specific areas of the MOD business
Articulate business goals, product strategies, and user and business requirements for specific areas of the MOD business
Conduct insightful analyses of business opportunities and challenges, incorporating SKU, sales motion and channel delivery considerations into opportunity analysis
This ideal candidate will have the following skills and experiences:
Self-starter with exceptional strategic thought-leadership and sound business judgment
Ability to work independently across multiple groups in a rapidly changing environment
Strong project management demonstrating the ability to plan and execute on large, complex strategic projects. Ability to effectively handle multiple projects and deliver results within deadlines.
Clear, precise and compelling verbal and written communication skills; ability to build effective relationships with senior business partners; executive presence
Bachelor’s degree, MBA preferred
5+ years of relevant work experience
2+ years of experience at a top-tier strategy consulting firm, corporate strategy or product strategy
