Senior/Group Product Marketing Manager, MSA Search Business Group Be a part of Microsoft Advertising, responsible for our next multi-billion dollar line of business. The Microsoft Search Advertising (MSA) business group operates and competes on the front-lines of one of Microsoft’s most intense competitive battles. We drive Microsoft’s strategy in the advertising space with a mission of connecting advertisers to their target audience across multiple digital touch-points. We are looking for a senior or group product marketing manager to drive multiple strategic global initiatives, focused on sales and marketing programs through Yahoo! as the channel partner. In this role, you will engage deeply with Yahoo! sales and strategy teams, Microsoft’s product marketing & product development teams, some of the world’s largest advertisers, and adjacent Business Group teams in the US and key international markets. You will draw heavily on your ability to influence and inspire internal and external partners.
The Product Marketing Manager will be responsible for the following key areas: • Sales Initiatives Planning - Develop and enable field sales/marketing initiatives to address RPS & revenue blockers. • Sales Initiatives Execution - Launch advertisers insights with deep marketplace analysis to enable the field and advertisers to realize opportunities in the marketplace. Develop and enable execution of sales and marketing programs to drive greater advertiser participation in the marketplace • Channel Management - joint planning , communication around product launches, point of contact for sales issues • Best practice sharing - across C&O and Yahoo sales team; right product usage; workarounds, etc. • Sales feedback - ensure market requirements from field flow back to planning/product management, input to prioritization • Issue Resolution - ensure that critical advertiser and sales related issues are prioritized, channeled to the right external teams (Bing, adCenter Support, ex.) and resolved.
Following are the key competencies and experience of an ideal candidate:
Required Qualifications • Deep experience in paid search: ideally as a Search Account Manager (SAM) with rich sales experience, servicing large advertisers • Deep knowledge of search products: intimate knowledge of Adcenter and Adwords • Great communicator and leader - across customers, dispersed field teams, executives, engineers and partners. Ability to influence key internal stakeholders very important. • Proven track record - at least 6 years’ experience in search account management and/or field facing experience. BA/BS required; MBA preferred
Preferred Qualifications • Partner focus - This is essentially a partnership management role. The person needs to excel in the ability to work within the BG, across the various teams internally (Engg, PMs, Monetization, etc) and most importantly with our external partner, Yahoo! • Customer-focus - passion for customers; creative thinking in resolving customer issues • Analytically & strategically focused - ability to drive analysis and draw strategic conclusions for investment and business • Quick decision maker - ability to decide under tight timing and pressure
