Job Description

We are looking for a supremely talented and creative senior product manager to build and launch a new strategic initiative for Amazon’s digital media categories.  We can’t say much about the effort, but it includes defining and designing the product, coordinating across multiple digital media teams, and ultimately from the ground up building and launching an awesome new experience for customers. 

The right person for this role will have ample experience working with software developers to define and build new technology and building awe-inspiring new experiences for customers. You have to love building stuff and inventing on behalf of customers.

 

Responsibilities:

* Define and deliver the product development roadmap for new digital initiative.
* Define and implement an iterative product development process

* Work closely with engineering and business leadership, internal and key external partners to define and deliver the product vision.
* Increase insights on user behavior and pain points. Identify, measure, and improve key customer experience metrics.  Promote data-based decision making.
* Continually optimize the product and feature roadmap and manage prioritization and trade-offs among customer experience, time-to-market, and operational support load.
* Collaborate with the business team on marketing and go-to-market plans.

Basic Qualifications


* 5+ years and demonstrated success in delivering products/services in a high growth environment.
* Leadership role in product development management in e-commerce and consumer software applications.
* BA/BS degree required.

Preferred Qualifications

* Superior communication and analytical skills, including strong ability to identify and solve ambiguous problems.
* High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
* Insatiable will to get stuff done.
* Excellent customer experience intuition; demonstrated success in creating innovative and user-friendly software applications and customer-facing features.
* Implementation orientation; demonstrated ability to translate strategic differentiators into innovative and detailed product requirements.

* Technical fluency; comfort understanding and discussing architectural concepts, schedule tradeoffs and new opportunities with technical team members.
* Proven ability to make smart feature (customer experience) versus time-to-market trade-offs; experience using data and metrics to back up assumptions and assertions of business value.
* Street smarts; willingness to roll up the sleeves and do whatever is necessary to meet team goals.
* Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams through influence versus direct management; excellent interpersonal skills.
* MBA preferred.
