Sports play a central role in the lives of people around the world, and we’re looking for strong marketers with a passion to change how people experience sports today. The Sports Entertainment Group Global Marketing team is looking for a Senior Product Manager to drive strategic marketing around key sports experiences through Xbox LIVE. The role involves close partnership with our development partners to articulate consumer needs and define value prop and positioning. This role also engages closely with our CRM and Xbox LIVE teams to drive engagement for services like ESPN, UFC, and other sports-related partnerships.
The right candidate will develop global marketing campaigns incorporating research, LIVE, advertising, PR, online marketing, promotions, events, and channel to drive broad awareness and conversion. This highly collaborative role includes close integration with Global and Regional LIVE marketing teams, as well as our publishing and IP partners to ensure delivery of premier sports content for the Xbox and complementary platforms.
The candidate will create consumer product positioning based on in-depth target consumer understanding and validation, and own development of key messages to internal and external customers and all related communications plans. Develop & manage marketing plans and programs to drive awareness, usage, and retention, while also partnering with our development teams to deliver audience acquisition and monetization targets. Serve as the primary contact for the development and execution of PR strategies and issues, and support our marketing subsidiaries through delivery of strategies and tactics that are regionally relevant and on-message.
Responsibilities include: • Deliver research-driven consumer insights to help shape product direction and inform value prop framework. • Creating global marketing plans (market & competitive analysis, customer targeting, positioning/messaging/branding, PR planning, acquisition/retention, sustain planning) that drive awareness & engagement for LIVE sports services. • Partnering with subsidiary teams to shape go-to-market activities into a cohesive and integrated worldwide marketing plan. • Recommending optimal on-going content release and promotion strategy. • Partner with business management on forecasting, target KPI setting, localization strategy, launch timing, and lifecycle planning. • Defining key analytics and metrics for on-going reporting needs. • Serving as product spokesperson for internal executive presentations and external press opportunities. • Building and nurturing strong relationships with development and IP partners. • Developing intimate knowledge of sports services landscape across mediums and platforms (console, online, mobile). • Developing and managing rollout of global marketing materials (LIVE, POP, advertising, web).
A successful candidate will have: • BA/BS or equivalent in Business, Marketing, or related field. • Minimum 3 years in consumer product marketing in the technology space, 5+ years preferred. • Online marketing experience, preferably focused around consumer entertainment. • Robust analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to define new business models. Must be data driven with a talent for translating complexity into clearly defined consumer insight and recommendations. • Ability to define and translate a strategic vision into clearly defined value prop and consumer positioning. • Strong leadership and executive presentation skills, along with excellent communication and interpersonal awareness. • Ability to on-board quickly, identify key business needs, and operate independently to drive for results. • Experience driving for success in highly cross-functional environments. Important to be comfortable with ambiguity and charting a new course to solve difficult problems. • Passion, professionalism, and a desire to shape the future of sports and interactive entertainment.
