The ideal candidate must be able to think and act both strategically and tactically, and manage a team flawlessly deliver a compelling customer experience and comprehensive set of benefits across both the website and mobile applications.  You must be innovative, leadership and team-oriented, and an effective communicator.  You will excel in managing and navigating cross-functional efforts, have experience managing both a product management and development team, and be adept at synthesizing a variety of technologies and capabilities into high quality, simple products and features that customers love.  The candidate will need to be a smart risk taker, who can deliver big ideas as well as transform them into scalable programs.

 

Role Responsibilities:

  • Define the strategy and direction for the new business initiative, including customer benefits and customer experience
  • Work cross-functionally with centralized development teams to develop a customer-facing product
  • Manage a team of software developers to develop mobile applications for iOS and Android
  • Build and lead a product management and software development team to develop compelling program features
  • Partner with Marketing in the development of the new initiative’s editorial voice and brand positioning
  • Define and monitor the appropriate measures of success including the program P&L along with acquisition, conversion and retention metrics
  • Collaborate with various organizations across Amazon, including Finance, Kindle, Prime, Advertising, Marketing, Customer Service and Retail Category Leaders
  • Work with customer research to drive insights into customer segments and shopping behaviors

 

Basic Qualifications
  • Passion for kids and kid-related products
  • BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of management and/or software development experience
  • 7+ years of experience developing customer-facing, online retail products, services, or mobile applications
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts
  • Experience building and managing strong teams, including product management and technical staff

  • Bachelor’s and Master’s degree
  • Experience developing mobile applications and services
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
