We are looking for a seasoned engineer who loves to work with hot technology and is cool under pressure with customers. The Product Management Engineer II will act as the primary technical marketing engineer for customers, partners, and others visiting the Seattle International Technology Center



Responsibilities


  • Support onsite customer engagements, including agendas, resource gathering, and tailored Proof Of Concept coordination and build-out.
  • Gather strategic product requirements from customer visits in the Technology Center, and work to help Product Management, Product Development, and Business Development understand the requirement for inclusion in the product.
  • Provide continuous evangelism of all F5 products through training and marketing of new capabilities.
  • Offer an enhanced experience to our customers visiting the International Technology Center through deep product knowledge and evangelism.
  • Assist in maintaining lab infrastructure, infrastructure enhancements, and test harnesses with beta/latest partner product releases.
  • Build and maintain product demos which demonstrate F5 product capabilities and competitive advantages.
  • Maintain Technology Center systems with latest information regarding processes, tools, capabilities, and engagement details, demos, and designing new offerings available in the Technology Center.
  • Conduct tests which will characterize the baseline performance as well as the improvement performance after F5 technologies are deployed.
  • Test the performance of a variety of third party applications when deployed in conjunction with F5 products.
  • Work closely with other team members to maximize re-use of existing tests, equipment, and resources.



Qualifications

  • 8+ years of relevant work experience in systems or network engineering (or related) required.
  • Expert Knowledge of underlying web technologies including HTTP, HTML and JavaScript, knowledge of TCP/IP networking and layer 7 protocols.
  • Fluent in various scripting languages, Perl and TCL preferred.
  • Expert level (in-depth) UNIX knowledge.
  • Expert networking engineering knowledge (including design and troubleshooting).
  • Strong industry background including past experience with one or more of the following: load balancing, application layer firewalls, SSL VPNs, web acceleration, or WAN acceleration.
  • Ability to rapidly pick up new technologies products such as networking protocols, applications, and new F5 product developments.
  • Undergraduate Computer Science Degree or equivalent work experience recommended.
  • Strong interpersonal and oral and written presentation skills required, with the ability to articulate and educate others about complex technology simply.
  • Ability to handling technical issues of any degree of complexity with minimal need for supervision or assistance
  • Ability to take full ownership of assigned projects throughout the project lifecycle.
  • C/C++/Java experience a plus.
  • Technical sales experience a plus
