The Sr. Product Manager (Carrier Solutions) s responsible for developing strategies and initiatives to successfully take your product line to market in the Insurance technology marketplace. You will be responsible for identifying customer and market trends, establishing new product marketing strategies and business cases, defining product positioning and pricing, and tracking key product line metrics to refine your cross-functional plans.

The Sr. Product Manager (Go to Market) is responsible for developing strategies and solutions to successfully drive market growth for our leading agency management systems. In this position you will be responsible for identifying customer and market trends, establishing new product marketing strategies, optimizing product positioning and pricing, and evangelizing and communicating your strategy and solution to the market.
You will be initiating primary research and obtaining field intelligence (Customer, Prospects, Sales and Service input) to analyze and develop successful go to market initiatives that drive growth for your product line.
This position reports to the Director of Product Management. The successful candidate will work as part of the product management team, and work closely with corporate marketing, professional services and enterprise sales, sales operations and sales engineering teams to position Vertafore to win.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work closely with Product Management peers and functional organizations to develop Go To Market strategies that enables Vertafore to grow its market position within the insurance company space.
- Drive to create new offers leveraging product, services, and optimizing price to value
- Market intelligence – be the expert on your buyers, how they buy and their buying criteria; be the expert on your competition and how to crush them
- Market development - Successful identification of winning positions, repeatable winning market plays, winning pricing strategies and commercialization strategies to drive sales and distribution results
- Importantly, the successful candidate should closely monitor market and cultural trends and deliver actionable market requirements for strategic product planning
- Identify, monitor and analyze internal (e.g. financials, movement, revenue, cost, sales) and external (e.g., technology, market share, competitive) performance parameters in order to reposition, modify features and identify new uses for the product
- Develop and deliver market driven, competitive positioning for given Product Line
- Day to day Product Management activities to ensure that effective processes are followed
- Identify and participate with industry influencers and analysts by providing thought leadership direction
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS The successful candidate will possess the following core competencies and experience:
- Minimum of five to seven years of enterprise software product marketing management experience combined with product management experience. Experience in the P&C or L&H insurance industry – within an agency, carrier or software vendor - preferred
- Must have worked for Internet / Enterprise Software product organizations
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Proven experience defining solution offers and unique value propositions
- Passion: desire to prove oneself, evangelize your product line and ambition to succeed in a fast paced environment
EDUCATION Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s / MBA degree preferred
