Senior Product Manager - Mobile & Web - Newbay |

As a product manager, your job will be to drive and own the development of compelling mission critical applications and services. You will work closely with product marketing, engineering, senior management, UI design, QA, beta, and third parties to define and turn requirements into software services. This position requires an ability to understand complex technical architectures, a passion for user-experience, the ability to communicate with all of the above parties, and first-hand experience in the design and launch of software services and Web/Telecom applications.
Responsibilities
- Identifying market opportunities and defining product vision and strategy
- Understanding customer needs and gathering product requirements
- Work with development teams to drive the development lifecycle of new products and existing products
- Understand your products at a technical level: API set, architecture, performance, scalability, etc.
- Work with product marketing to deliver product collateral, and support sales and marketing activities
- Developing new product ideas, prototypes and demonstrations
- Creating business cases for new product development
- Responsible for product roadmap, schedule and budget as it affects the product
Experience
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related discipline
- 5+ years experience in product management
- Experience in leading product development for client and server-side software services and Web applications running in complex client-server solutions
- Understanding of technical architectures that can scale massively
- Have exceptional communications skills and be able to deal with cross-functional teams
- Understanding of the mobile space, internet space and emerging telecom and web technologies
Essential Skills
- Deep understanding of consumer technologies, including audio/video, mobile, messaging and Internet media
- Knowledge of Web software infrastructure/architecture, streaming media, and mobile media and communications products
- Knowledge of key platform technologies including XML/REST/JSON
- Understanding of Web software development lifecycle, including release management across multiple development, testing, and production environments
- Ability to communicate effectively with developers, all levels of management, and partners - all with differing cultural and technical backgrounds
- Independent hard working individual with leadership qualities
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Superior interpersonal, teamwork, and collaboration skills
- Strong written and oral presentation skills
