POSITION SUMMARY
The successful candidate will be an important member of the BlackBerry Security Group. Reporting to the Security Product Management Team, the successful candidate will help champion technical software related security products and features both internally and externally. The Product Manager will help identify the key security functionality that will be present in future BlackBerry products and help bring them to market. The successful candidate will interact daily with engineering and technology groups in driving security requirements, design and architecture into the final product. The candidate will also champion the security products and features of BlackBerry through customer interactions and presentations in various forums. The Product Manager will become a SME (Subject Matter Expert) in these areas for the larger BlackBerry Security Group and Product Management group. In addition, the Product Manager will provide support as needed in channel development and marketing activities.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • University or College degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years working with business units to define or implement requirements for software products
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment both in teams and on own
  • Achievement-oriented and self-motivated
  • Ability to explain technology at various levels of detail
  • Well-developed written skills
ADDITIONAL ASSETS
  • Familiarity with the BlackBerry solution
  • 1-2 years of experience in product management
  • Software development or architecture experience
  • Knowledge of security industry and related technologies
  • Familiarity with FIPS, Common Criteria, and other security certifications
