Role Definition
We are seeking an experienced Director of Product Marketing to lead our product strategy and go-to-market activities for the family of Parallels Plesk Panel products.
Director of Product Marketing is a business owner who leads cross-functional team to successfully meet business objective of the Parallels Plesk Panel product family. This leadership position requires setting the overall vision for product go-to-market strategy, knowing and monitoring key performance indicators, understanding the dynamics of both direct and channel sales, and influencing many teams towards common goals. Responsibilities include driving the marketing strategy, messaging, positioning, pricing, packaging, field enablement, community development, and evangelism of the product set.
The successful candidate will be driven by a fast paced environment and the challenge of competing in a dynamic market. Must have a positive attitude and be a team player that others can rely on to deliver on-time quality results.
Required skills include the ability to communicate with customers and interpret information into market based requirements. A candidate must be able to lead and add value to the team by bringing innovation and a hunger to take market share away from incumbents. Must be willing to bring best practices to the group and to take creative risks.
Responsibilities
- Deliver market landscape overviews, opportunity assessment and S.W.O.T analysis
- Drive campaigns and marketing execution to and through partners as well as directly to customers.
- Provide feedback to engineering on product market fit, customer needs analysis and partnership opportunities
- Prepare product and solution positioning, messaging, presentations and other key materials to drive pipeline creation and to support online and field marketing in support of business objectives
- Diagnose competitors messaging and products to create accurate competitive battle cards and sales strategies that grow the business and enable sales to close business
- Partner closely with sales and partner teams and arm them with training, content, and sales tools
- Work across teams in the company to coordinate, influence and encourage product line success
- Evangelize with press, partners, customers and prospects through presentations, webinars, and social media
- Build and manage a strong community driving user feedback to engineering and social impact
Qualifications
- BS/BA degree required, MS/MA/MBA preferred
- 10-15 years of experience in software product marketing/management. Experience with large establish software vendor preferred.
- Strong technical background required/product management experience is preferred.
- Understanding of the Service Provider industry/experience marketing to the hosting audiences is preferred.
- Understanding of panel technology is required/hand on experience with managing and/or using panel technology is preferred.
- Strong oral and written English communication abilities.
- Ability to multi-task and maintain attention to accuracy and quality of work
- A passion for outstanding product marketing and for the power of brand
- Experience dealing with emerging technologies
