Lead the global marketing strategy behind titles in the games portfolio. The Microsoft Games Studio Global Product Marketing team is looking for a Product Marketer with sound consumer marketing experience to drive global marketing thinking around key franchises. The right candidate will develop global franchise and marketing strategies for these key brands, setting the direction for continued leadership throughout the life of the products. The role will include partnership with advertising, PR, online marketing, promotions, events, and channel to ensure world class delivery of programs. The candidate will develop annual unit and revenue sell-thru forecasts. The candidate will also create consumer product positioning based on in-depth target consumer understanding and validation. You will own development of key messages to internal and external customers and all related communications plans. Develop & manage marketing spend plan including creating marketing plans and programs, determining the optimal marketing mix and recommendations on resource allocations. Manage product launches including naming, packaging and materials creation, distribution strategies, initial product pricing, online marketing plan, and lifecycle management including price reductions. Serve as the primary contact for the development and execution of PR strategies and issues. Be one of the primary PR spokespeople for the product franchises, in addition to working closely with the developer/product development teams in order to coach them in responding to the press when appropriate. Support the international subsidiaries in their marketing efforts for the product line, ensuring that marketing communications are appropriate for international audiences and modifying if needed. Work with development teams to hone product design and feature prioritization and create a unified development and marketing vision for the product, with a thorough incorporation of target consumer segment understanding.

Responsibilities include:
• Creating global franchise marketing plans (market & competitive analysis, customer understanding, positioning/messaging/branding, PR planning, and marketing strategies) that drive awareness & purchase intent worldwide for the game franchise
• Analyzing consumer trends and behavior to advise and assist game studios with portfolio development and planning
• Defining and managing visual identity for global marketing materials (packaging, POP, advertising, web)
• Partnering with subsidiary teams to shape go-to-market activities into a cohesive and integrated worldwide marketing plan
• Developing intimate knowledge of games and competitive titles
• Serving as product spokesperson for internal executive presentations and external press opportunities
• Building and nurturing strong relationships with game studios and developers
• Recommending optimal release dates for titles
• Managing marketing aspects of the business plan, including forecasting, marketing budget formulation, localization strategy, launch timing, and lifecycle planning

Requirements:
At least 5 years product marketing or product management experience with consumer focus.
- Strong strategic and analytical abilities, and category insight.
- Global marketing background.
- Experience managing external partnerships.
- Must be self-motivated and have the ability to influence and collaborate with teams and individuals.
- Solid organization and communication skills.
- MBA a plus.
