Job Description

The Amazon Marketplace organization drives the Selling On Amazon business and develops solutions that enable millions of sellers around the world to sell on Amazon’s Marketplaces. We are looking for an experienced business leader to launch and lead a new business category.  As the leader of this new category, you will own defining the strategy, leading a team to execute, and deliver a world-class customer experience.  In addition, you will be responsible for the P&L ownership, expanding selection, managing both internal and external partner relationships, managing to financial targets, as well as defining/executing long-term category strategic initiatives.

 

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership experience in developing people and growing to scale as the business expands; working with internal and external partners on strategic planning and execution, working with technical teams to build innovative technology to improve the customer experience, excellent verbal and written communication skills, analytical thinking and data driven decision making, and a strong will to get stuff done and deliver results.

 

Role Responsibilities Include:

  • Strategy:  He or she will be responsible for developing a go to market strategy for the category as well as ongoing strategic direction post launch.
  • P&L responsibility: He or she will be responsible for driving the top and bottom line and optimizing all aspects of the category P&L on Amazon.com by delivering the right mix of selection from our 3rd party sellers and delivering a top notch customer and seller experience.
  • Online Store management and demand generation:  Responsible for site merchandising, demand generation and complete customer experience. This includes inventing new ways and site features to drive higher conversion rates and overall top line sales.
  • 3rd party seller management: Responsible for managing relationships for key 3rd party sellers, helping them identify selection opportunities and drive their growth and maximizing our bottom line.
  • Hire and Develop talent:  He or she will build and lead a team and develop their careers at Amazon.com.

 

 

Basic Qualifications

The successful candidate will bring:

  • Proven experience in leadership roles across detail oriented functions, such as finance, consulting, and general management.
  • Communication and analytical skills, including strong ability to identify and solve highly ambiguous problems.
  • High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to think and react in a high energy, fast paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
  • Communications and collaboration skills that enable you to earn trust up, down, and across the company.

 

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with P&L responsibility.
  • Extreme attention to detail and willingness to roll up your sleeves.
  • Online experience preferred.
  • MBA with 3-5+ years professional experience.
