The Senior Product Marketing Manager (Sr. PMM) for K-12 solutions will play a significant role in establishing GlobalScholar as the most trusted provider of intelligent solutions that drive student growth and achievement. Based on a clear understanding of customer needs, market trends, and corporate goals/strategies, this role will be responsible for marketing the full range of GlobalScholar’s K-12 products to customers at a State and District level, including their positioning, pricing, packaging and promotion.
The Sr. PMM will work closely with many parts of the GlobalScholar organization, including executives, product managers, development, implementation, sales, and marketing. He/she will run the launch process for the K-12 products and own all go-to-market activities to ensure a successful release of our products into the market.
The Sr. PMM will also own the positioning, pricing, and packaging for all K-12 solutions that span the teaching and school administration experience. As such, they will need a proven track record of managing a product portfolio of software applications. The ideal candidate will be hands-on with all aspects of strategy and execution, including the ability to manage multiple work-streams at a detailed level. As GlobalScholar is dedicated to providing solutions that optimize teacher effectiveness and continuously improve student performance, the ideal candidate must have past experience working within education, for example through teaching, school administration, or working for a software vendor that sells into the education market.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Know our Customer and Nurture External Relationships – Provide “outside in” view
- Nurture relationships with industry organizations and own the product award process for K-12 products
- Create buyer personas, conduct customer satisfaction surveys, and contribute to social media efforts
- Conduct Win/Loss analysis with new opportunities and renewals
Run the Launch Process – ensure timely, cohesive launches to market
- Run the GlobalScholar launch process, from initial launch plan through to regular team meetings, ensuring that all parts of the GlobalScholar organization are aligned with the product goals and milestones.
- Work with product management to identify and prioritize market requirements and provide input on the release timing
- Conduct post-launch post mortems to ensure continuous improvement of product launch process
Manage Pricing and Packaging– ensure our K-12 products are competitive
- Refine and update pricing across our products and services to ensure that we remain competitive in the market and deliver value to our customers
- Review how our products and services are packaged, to ensure they are aligned with our customers’ purchase process and budgets
- Articulate value proposition and competitive differentiation
Drive Sales Enablement – create effective lead-generation and selling strategies
- Help sales differentiate our K-12 products, offer competitive insights, and attend customer meetings
- Evangelize our K-12 products with analysts to continue establishing GlobalScholar as a leader in education technology
- Represent K-12 products at tradeshows and lead-generation events
- Collaborate with Lead Generation team to develop winning campaigns
SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS
- 6+ years’ experience in product marketing or product management for business or educational software applications
- Bachelors in Education, Marketing, or Business; MBA preferred
- Passionate about promoting technology advancement within the educational sector, with a strong focus on improving teaching effectiveness and student academic performance
- Experience launching commercial software products to market
- Ability to manage complex, integrated projects from inception to completion in a cross-functional environment
- Willing to travel for events, customer visits and sales calls
- Entrepreneurial spirit with proven track record of success working in a fast-paced software environment
