One-Day Workshop to Help You Satisfy User Needs
Are you in a quandary as to where to start with your requirements and what level of detail to provide? Is your requirements process more ad-hoc than organized? Confused about the difference between a BRD, MRD, PRD, or FRD? This onsite workshop is for you.
Who should attend? Designed for product teams of 3 to 8 in size who need to refine their techniques for writing business and product requirements including product managers, program managers, development leads, architects, business analysts, designers and directors.
This workshop will walk you through a step-by-step process for creating your product requirements. The course takes a top down approach of understanding user goals and tasks and bridging them to functional and non-functional solution requirements through scenarios and use cases. We work with a real product definition you bring in, or practice using generic examples.
The process is applicable to software, hardware and service products and can also be leveraged or adapted to Agile release planning and user stories.
Immediate and long-term results: By the end of the day, you'll have a new perspective and set of tools for approaching your requirements from a user needs perspective. If you include your own product concept for the exercises, you'll also have an initial cut at the high level requirements that can be formalized in a Market Requirements template or any form used in your organization.
Specific topics include:
- Clarifying your business goals and objectives
- Defining product User Roles
- Writing Scenarios to bridge user problem to solution
- Creating Actors and Use Cases
- Identifying Non-Functional and System Requirements
- Leveraging diagrams and mockups
- Prioritizing Requirements
Included in course:
- One-day, onsite delivery to your team at your location
- All course materials including document templates
- 60-day follow-up contact with instructor to assess results and gain feedback
